ENOVIA VPM V4 & LCA

ENOVIA VPM V4 (Virtual Product Model) is a 4th-generation PLM system from Dassault Systèmes that was used primarily in combination with CATIA V4. In the 1990s and early 2000s it was a leading solution for managing complex product data and structures – especially in industries such as aerospace, automotive and shipbuilding.

VPM V4 was succeeded by ENOVIA V5 (LCA) and later by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform (ENOVIA V6), which offer more modern user interfaces, better integration with CATIA V5 and more comprehensive process support.

ENOVIA LCA (Lifecycle Applications) is an older but powerful PLM system from Dassault Systèmes. It was mainly used to manage product data, processes and lifecycles, especially in combination with CAD systems such as CATIA V5. ENOVIA LCA stores all product-relevant data such as CAD models, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and documents centrally in a database, ensuring that everyone involved can always access the latest information.

Thanks to our broad customer base, we have extensive expertise in the PDM systems ENOVIA VPM V4 and ENOVIA LCA. Our experience ranges from system adaptations and trigger programming to the development of interfaces – particularly for integration with SAP.

We have extensive expertise in integrating CAD authoring systems, particularly the applications from Dassault Systèmes, into both the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and SmarTeam. We are also able to adapt these systems to our customers’ specific requirements through tailored additional programming such as CAA. In numerous customer projects we have also gained in-depth knowledge of integrating the CAD system Creo into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

PLM systems help companies manage product data and processes centrally throughout the entire lifecycle. Depending on the requirements, company size and industry, different systems are used. Below we present some of the leading PLM solutions we work with regularly and have gained extensive experience with.

Teamcenter (Siemens)

Teamcenter from Siemens Digital Industries Software is one of the world’s most widely used PLM systems and offers a powerful, scalable platform for managing complex product and process data. The solution stands out for its deep integration with CAD and ERP systems as well as extensive functions for variant management, change processes and enterprise-wide collaboration. Teamcenter is particularly well suited to larger companies with an international orientation.

Windchill (PTC)

Windchill from PTC is a modern, web-based PLM platform with a focus on product data and change management as well as configuration and variant control. Its close integration with PTC Creo is a major advantage for users of this CAD solution, yet Windchill can also be used CAD-neutrally. The solution is aimed in particular at technology-driven industries with complex development processes.

keytech (Revalize)

keytech from Revalize is an established PLM solution from Germany that is particularly suitable for medium-sized companies. With an intuitive user interface, fast implementation and practical functions, keytech offers a lean entry into product lifecycle management. The solution supports common CAD systems such as SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor and enables end-to-end management of technical data.

Aras Innovator

With Innovator, Aras offers a highly flexible, model-based open-source PLM platform. The solution is characterised by exceptionally high adaptability and enables companies to map their individual processes and data models without traditional licence restrictions. Aras is particularly suitable for companies that rely on agile development, innovation and long-term scalability.

Agile PLM (Oracle)

Agile PLM from Oracle is a proven solution for product and quality management – especially in the electronics, high-tech and pharmaceutical industries. The platform offers comprehensive functions for change management, compliance, approval and supply chain integration. Through its connection to other Oracle systems, Agile PLM can be seamlessly integrated into existing IT landscapes.

We have already worked with numerous PDM systems in the past – whether developing interfaces or, in particular, migrating data from legacy PDM systems to 3DEXPERIENCE. This experience enables us to understand individual customer requirements precisely and implement them in a targeted way.

Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL) are powerful relational database management systems (RDBMS) used to store and manage large volumes of data. Both database systems are fully supported by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, so you can choose the solution that best fits your company as required.

SAP

With the introduction of its SAP R/2 and SAP R/3 solutions, SAP established a global standard for ERP software (Enterprise Resource Planning). SAP S/4HANA followed as the next generation of SAP ERP software. The platform makes in-memory technology usable for ERP users, so that huge volumes of data can be processed in real time. New technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning can also be integrated.

The integrated applications connect all parts of a company in an intelligent suite on a fully digital platform, replacing the old, process-driven platform.

Many of our customers need a seamless integration of their PDM system with SAP. For this we either use proven integration solutions or develop tailored solutions to individual requirements. The SAP objects to be integrated typically include the material master, the document info record, the change master and the engineering bill of materials.
